Bauma CONEXPO India vs EXCON: Two Major Exhibitions, Two Different Opportunities
A neutral comparison of what each event offers manufacturers, suppliers and buyers

India now hosts two large construction equipment exhibitions of international standing: Bauma CONEXPO India, held at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida, and EXCON, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry at BIEC in Bengaluru.
They are frequently compared. The more useful exercise is to identify what each is good for, because exhibiting or attending is a budget decision, not a loyalty test.
Organisers and lineage
Bauma CONEXPO India carries the lineage of two of the world's largest construction equipment exhibition brands. EXCON is organised by an Indian industry body with deep domestic institutional reach. Both attract international exhibitors and both attract Indian suppliers.
Geography
Greater Noida places the event within the northern industrial and contracting corridor and close to Delhi NCR's policy and corporate presence. Bengaluru places EXCON within the southern engineering and precision manufacturing belt. Neither location is superior; they simply pull different visitor and supplier profiles.
What each tends to deliver
For international brand exposure and cross-border sourcing conversations, a globally branded event has obvious reach. For domestic supplier discovery, dealer development and engagement with Indian industry institutions and policy discussion, a CII-organised event has its own advantages.
How to decide
Exhibitors should map objectives first: brand visibility, dealer appointments, component sourcing, export leads or aftermarket sales. The event that matches the objective is the right one, and for many companies the answer is both, in alternate years or with different scales of participation.
ISPT holds no formal partnership with either organiser. This comparison is editorial and deliberately does not rank the two events. Readers should confirm current edition dates, venues and registration details on each organiser's official website.
